For me our Support Group means that I meet many other people who are in the same boat.
Over a cup of coffee and general chat we naturally deal with every topic that impinges on our lives from bus passes to concessions at the cinema.
We laugh about the thoughtlessness of people and the stupid difficulties they give us, even when we trip over our friends’ guide dogs!
In our area we already have a tech support session for iphones so I hope we will have one for Android phones soon.
Frequently we have guest speakers or a report on the latest research results or a detailed explanation of how the eye works and all its different layers. Occasionally someone will ask about a different eye problem and we will get an answer.
Your support group will also give you help with other things like kitchen gadgets and cooking giving you more WINS.
Collectively these friends have a wealth of knowledge and experience that you can tap into and save yourself hours of research and weeks or frustration. Every problem solved is another WIN.
