Winning, Nov 2024 Update
The improvements:
- Smartphones are smarter; when switched off, by voice I can tell it to call a particular person or to open a new email; switch itself on by fingerprint or facial recognition (very quick); more useful search results (BARD/Chat GPT); dictate emails, documents, diary details and calendar reminders; auto repeating diary entries.
- My Pixl 7 smartphone is linked with my Phonak hearing aids for listening to newspaper, emails, documents and books (I use Audible, and my own music tracks.
- My laptop is linked with a 28” TV screen, and with MS Windows Magnification turned on, I can read emails and documents; I also use this for buying stuff (Amazon, Real Seeds, DT Brown, Marshalls Gardens and others.
- Photos use facial recognition as long as it has one name!
- I no longer “File” documents as the search is fast and accurate.
- Tennis failed as peripheral vision is interrupted by any movement.
- Mahjongg set with extra large pieces I bought on eBay
- I now have three free standing lights )all LED) for extra light
- For the garden I like large swathes or white flowers or red flowers
- My music says it has nearly 4,000 tracks and from Audible over 200 books
- We have found U3A a great social and friendly bunch of people
- Our allotment is a continuous challenge planning, buying, looking after the soil and cropping. Tomorite is great as the bottles are a strong red.
